About the metrics
How each number is calculated, where the data comes from, and where it can be wrong.
Who is ranked
- Guilds with a Mythic kill of the final boss. A live tier fills up as guilds clear.
- CN guilds are excluded — boosting in the region can't be filtered reliably.
- World ranks are WarcraftLogs' own.
Data sources
- WarcraftLogs race data: every Mythic progression pull (start, duration, boss health), including pulls from private logs. Used for pull count, combat time, progress hours and nerfs.
- Public logs: all of a guild's raid logs, including heroic, reclears and alt runs. Used for raids/week and splits.
- Updated every 30 minutes. Each guild is re-checked every 12 hours for 30 days after its clear, because WarcraftLogs data keeps changing (late uploads, deleted or private logs).
Pull count
Mythic pulls on each boss up to and including its first kill, summed over the raid. Reclears, normal and heroic pulls are not included.
Combat time
Total length of the same pulls as pull count. Time between pulls is not included.
Progress hours
Time from the first to the last progression pull of each raid night, breaks included. A gap of more than 1 hour between pulls starts a new session.
Raids/week
Shown as average (max): "4.2 (5)" is 4.2 raid nights per lockout on average and 5 in the busiest lockout. Counted from the week Mythic opened to the guild's last kill.
- A raid night is a calendar day in the guild's region, rolling over at 04:00 local time.
- Privately logged nights count when they contain Mythic progression pulls.
- The kill week is left out of the average when it has fewer nights than the guild's typical (median) week.
Main team only
The roster is a list of all characters ("mains") who took part in at least one of the guild's Mythic progression kills that tier. A log counts as a main-team night if it has:
- 10+ mains in a typical pull, or
- 15+ mains across all of that night's logs, or
- in the first two weeks: 5+ mains per pull, with 15+ mains across that week's split groups.
Anything else is treated as an alt run.
Private logs
Only nights with Mythic progression pulls or heroic first kills are visible, so only the max is shown: "(5)". The same applies when more than two raid nights are missing from a guild's public logs. Guilds known to raid daily (e.g. Liquid, Echo, Method) are shown as (7).
Splits
Heroic runs in the tier's first week, including the main team's own clear: the number of kills of the guild's most-killed heroic boss that week. Each character can loot a boss once per week, so every kill is a separate group.
Alt runs are excluded, and a kill that appears in two loggers' logs counts once. Public-log guilds only.
Nerfs
Mythic nerfs that went live after the world-first guild killed a boss and before this guild did, summed over all bosses. The world-first guild is always 0. Hover a number to see the nerfs.
- A nerf is a change from Blizzard's hotfix notes or tuning posts that applies to Mythic and makes the fight easier. Bug fixes, trash changes and changes to lower difficulties are not counted. Changes released together count as one nerf, even across bosses.
- Changes that ship with the weekly restart count from each region's reset: NA Tuesday 15:00, EU Wednesday 07:00, KR/TW Wednesday 23:00 UTC. Other hotfixes count from 17:00 UTC on their date. Dates shown are NA dates.
- Current tier only.
Per-boss view
The Boss selector shows pull count, combat time, progress hours and nerfs for one boss. World rank, raids/week and splits stay tier-wide.
A boss's progress hours include the time since the previous boss (trash, breaks), so the bosses add up to the tier total.
Percentiles
Guild pages show each metric as a percentile within the tier, in WarcraftLogs parse colors. Lower values are better. 100 means no guild did better. Flagged guilds are excluded.
Similar guilds: the five closest, weighted mostly by world rank, then average percentile and raids/week.
Warning flags
Flagged guilds are hidden by default.
- Competition Logs Disabled — no race data.
- Partial Competition Logs — race data missing for some bosses or pulls.
- Suspicious Data — bosses killed far out of order, very few pulls, or a late start followed by a fast clear.
Known limitations
- Private logs only show nights with progression pulls or heroic first kills.
- Split groups after week 2 with fewer than 10 mains, one group per night, count as alt runs.
- Older tiers use earlier raids/week rules and have no splits or nerfs.
- Where a hotfix's go-live time isn't known, a kill on that day can land on the wrong side of it.
FAQ
My guild isn't listed.
It needs a Mythic kill of the final boss with competition logging on, on a non-CN realm (before Cutting Edge ended, for past tiers). Flagged guilds are hidden — use the "Show guilds with incomplete or missing log data" toggle.
Our pull count differs from WarcraftLogs.
Data is re-checked every 12 hours for 30 days after a clear, so a difference should close within half a day.
Why (5) instead of an average?
The guild's logs are private, or more than two raid nights are missing from its public logs.
A raid night of ours isn't counted.
It most likely failed the main-team check (see Raids/week).
Is ProgMetrics affiliated with WarcraftLogs?
No. It's an independent project using WarcraftLogs data, inspired by the original Guildranks.
